This leather sheath was a pure labour of love.  A ‘one off’ piece of art for the very humble Mora Clipper. Although the Mora Clipper is one of Bushcraft staples, this unsung hero certainly deserves such a ‘sexy’ hand stitched leather sheath.

Made from the very best high quality, British veg tanned leather. It has been beautifully hand stitched and hand cut to give it’s unique shape The actual thickness of the welt speaks for itself! It tappers from 20mm to 10mm and all hand stitched in a traditional saddle stitch. It has then been hand dyed in a deep rich antique brown and buffed to perfection.  

This Sheath has been made in a high ride style and has the belt loop stitched at a lower point on the sheath. This allows the sheath to be worn in what is called the ‘High-Ride’ position when worn on a belt.

The integral part of this sheath is the hardened leather ‘Welt’, which protects the knife’s cutting edge from damage whilst housed in the sheath. Any well-made, high quality, sheath should always have this essential feature. A Welt is the thick piece of hard leather that lies between the two sides of the sheath, along the cutting edge. The Welt provides structural strength to the sheath and prevents the knife from cutting the sheath at the stitching.
