Once in a while we decide to do something a bit different and fun. This beautifully crafted Urnes inspired Viking Fire steels are made in high carbon steel and made in the UK by Beaver Bushcraft. The Urnes style is the last phase of Viking art between1040 -1150c. The style is based on the beautiful carved wooden doors of the stave church at Urnes in Norway. The style is characterised by the interwoven patterns and highly stylised animals. We have taken the elements of this beautiful Viking art form and used them to design a new range of traditional fire steel strikers.

Our Fire Steels have been specially designed to spark efficiently when using the correct striking technique, and that optimal spark generation can only really be achieved when using a new super sharp piece of flint, as well as some good quality, and dry tinder, such as Char Cloth, Amadou or Chaga.
