This high quality water tight Mini Steel Tin contains 100% of the best quality Cotton Char Cloth tinder that can be made. The Char Cloth has been tightly hand rolled forming one continuous long strip and has been designed to fit into this handy sized Tin. To use this high quality Char Cloth could not be more straightforward, simply pull off the quantity of Char Cloth that you require, and use it to create an Ember. The Steel Tin can also be used should you wish to make your own char cloth in the future.
Our 100% Cotton Char Cloth can easily be used to create an embers in a whole variety of differing and wondrous ways:
You can create them from either the sparks generated from a traditional ‘Flint & traditional Steel’ tinderbox set, or
by the sparks created from a modern ferrocerium sparking rod (such as from our range of PyroFlints&trad;) or
they can be created by focusing the rays of the sun with a Magnifying Lens or even a Parabolic Mirror.
Once the Char Cloth has caught an Ember and it has become established by gently fanning it with your hand, it can be transferred to a Tinder Bundle and then blown into a flame if you are outdoors. Alternatively, if you are indoors, it can be used to ignite a direct flame with one of our Traditional Sulphur Matches, which can be used to ignite a fire or a candle.
This 100% Cotton Char Cloth tinder is a must for everyone’s Tinderbox, Survival Tin or Fire Lighting Kit. We don’t stint on quality either, our Char Cloth is premium quality and has been specially engineered to fit these tins. If the Char Cloth is not perfect we won’t use it!
