Once in a while we like to create something that’s a little bit different, something with a bit of character. This beautifully rustic style handmade leather pedant has a little hidden secret, a mini, mini Tinderbox complete with Flint & Steel & Tinder. Exclusively designed and made by us at Beaver Bushcraft.

Made by us in our Kent workshop, these quirky Leather Pendants have a mini, but fully functional, Traditional 'Flint & Steel' Tinderbox nestled inside. The Leather Pendants are all hand-dyed in Chestnut Brown and tooled with an Oak leaf design. Easy to wear round the neck, the best thing about them is that the Tinderbox really works, see video below. These Pendant Tinderboxes are a bit different from the normal Tinderbox or Tinder Pouches that we normally sell, since we think that they will make a great gift for someone who's into Traditional 'Flint & Steel' Fire Lighting, but wants something a little bit different, and for anyone who loves making fire the traditional way.

The Traditional 'Flint & Steel' mini round Tinderbox comes with a mini Fire Steel, designd by Beaver Bushcraft, that measures an amzing 40mm x 20mm x 4mm. There are two little holes in the fire steel that can be threaded on some cord and worn separately or just attach a lanyard to if you wanted to. The contents include 2 pieces of Norfolk Flint, one packed in the tin, one peice comes separtely. The Amadou Piece is carefully cut to fit in the Lid and a 12" piece of Jute is carefully nestled in the bottom of the Tin. The Jute Rope is great for creating a Tinder Bundle once your ember has been achieved.

Ease of Use Rating

 We have given this Traditional 'Flint & Steel' Tinderbox a 2/5 'Advanced'  rating as you do need to know how to use a flint & Steel Striker. The Fire Steel produes a good quaility spark but due to it's size it is a bit fiddly to use if you are new to Flint & Steel.
