Heart shaped Fire Steels have always been popular throughout the history of Traditional Fire Lighting, not only were they a symbol of Love but also a practical design due to the outside curve that gives the perfect arc when striking against flint. Heart shaped Fire Steels were very popular back in the 17th & 18th Century in regions such as France and Spain. We have tried to capture the romance of the heart shaped Fire Steels at Beaver Bushcraft by reintroducing them into our catalogue of traditional Fire steels throughtout the ages. This listing is for 1 x Fire Steel only, any other items seen in the photos are for dipslay only. 

Simalar to hold as the traditional 3 Fingered 'C' Striker, these Fire Steels have been given a 'ease of use'  rating. This style of Fire Steel is ideally suited for both the complete Beginners to the Expert Traditional Flint & Steel Fire Lighting Master. This Fire Steel that is easy to use and will  produce a very high yield of sparks when used with sharp flint and some good quality dry tinder and of course, when you use the right technique. 

Our Fire Steels have been specially designed to spark efficiently when using the correct striking technique, and that optimal spark generation can only really be achieved when using a new super sharp piece of flint, as well as some good quality, and dry tinder, such as Char Cloth, Amadou or Chaga.
