This traditional styled ' Irish Harp' shaped Fire Steel is based on one of the most popular styles of Fire Steel. Taken from the basic 'R' and 'U' shaped Fire Steels, the styles started to become more flamboyant and elaborate over time. Beautiful to use and the perfect size for Tinderboxes and Tinderpouches, a must have item to add to your collection. 

Although these Fire Steels are not technically 'Fire Steels', because they are made from the metal Titanium and not from High Carbon Steel (HCS), we will still refer to them as 'Fire Steels', and not 'Fire Titaniums', which just doesn't sound right!!!

To make the best use of our Titanium Fire Steels, we suggest that you need to have a modicum of experience with traditional 'Flint & Steel' strikers, since our Titanium Fire Steel strikers require a slightly harder, and a more confident strike to obtain good sparks. The sharper the edge of flint the more successful the strike! The more you use these fire steels the more they become worn in and easier to use. You will also notice that they are much lighter in weight than a standard High Carbon Steel striker because Titanium is a much lighter metal than steel.

If you get your striking technique right, you will also find that the shower of sparks that are produce from our Titanium strikers are white-hot and will ignite a greater variety tinder, than will a standard HCS Fire Steel. You can actually hear some of the sparks ‘Crack’ as they fly through the air.

We originally launched these at the Bushcraft Show back in 2023 and to our surprise they really took off!!! Hence we are now adding to the range.
