Since we consider Gransfors Bruks axes to be such a superior product, we thought that they deserved a personally designed Over Strike Protector  to complement them. Please allow a couple of days for us to make these items as they are made to order. Please note that this may be suitable for other types of Axes but please ensure you measure your Axe handle carefully before ordering. No other item is included in this sale.

Sometimes known as an 'Oversrtike Protector' or a 'Collar Guard', our design will help to protect the handle of your Gransfor Bruks Axe. Easy to lace up and there is a choice of paracord or matching leather thonging. Made by Shark Designs for Beaver Bushcraft, this handmade leather Over Strike Protector will also help to keep a good grip on your handle and can be wet moulded if you wish. A finishing Balm is also applied to the leather to keep it protected but also allow for a little bit of suppleness to help soften the leather to the shape of the handle. Please allow a couple of days if you want to order one of our hand dyed colours as the Collar Guards are hand cut, hand skived edges and then hand dyed.

Gransfor Bruks Own Axe Head Sheaths

If you wish to have the shade matched as near as possible to the Axe Head Sheaths that come with the Gransfor Bruks Axes, please order the Hazel Brown as this will be the nearest Shade and then add a note to your Order in the 'Customer Notes' section. We try to match the tone as near as possible but please be aware that their Axe Head Sheaths do vary in tone and leather plus the age of the Axe Head Sheath can effect the shade as it tends to go slightly darker with age. We also make an  Axe Head Sheath for the Gransfor Bruks ourselves. This has a full welt, is hand stitched and with a Sam Brown Stud fastening and designed to protect the whole Axe Head.This you could have made to match your 'Collar Guard', please see our other Listings for this item. No Gransfor Bruks axes are included in this sale.

The quality of the Leather & Workmanship

The use of the very best quality leather is an essential part of a quality sheath, not only because it looks and feels good, but because it will protect the handle. We use only the very best quality 3.5mm (+/-) thick vegetable tanned leather hides that have been specially hand selected by us from our supplier’s Tannery. Please note this is  a made to order item and may take a few days to make and hand dye. No Axe is inluded in this sale or any other iems shown in the photos.
